Built to release tension in the lower back and hips

Do you spend long hours sitting at a computer, driving or on your feet? Do you feel stiffness in the lower back, discomfort in the hips, or a tension that limits your mobility and gets in the way of your day?

At Baan Pho Thai Massage we built a specialised treatment to help release the muscle tension that gathers in the lower back, the hips and the muscles that stabilise the pelvis. It suits both people with a sedentary lifestyle and athletes who put this area under repetitive strain — cyclists, runners and anyone physically active.

It is a full-body massage, but we give particular attention to the lower back, glutes, hip flexors, paravertebral muscles, piriformis, hamstrings and the deep muscles of the pelvis, adapting every session to the person on the table.

The treatment combines genuine traditional Thai technique — pressure on specific points, work along the muscle lines and gentle stretching — with sports massage and muscle release, to reduce stiffness, improve mobility and support a more balanced posture.

The session takes place on a comfortable table using high-quality jojoba oil, particularly good for the skin and right for precise work on deep muscle. You can also choose from our selection of essential oils to round off the experience.

As part of our welcome ritual, before we begin you will enjoy a warm foot bath that helps you switch off and prepares the body for the treatment.

Our therapists, professionally trained in Thailand, assess how the tension is distributed and adapt pressure, technique and stretching to you, for a treatment that is safe, comfortable and effective.

More than a massage, it is a treatment built to release tension in the lower back and hips, improve mobility and make everyday movement more comfortable.

Benefits

Why your body will
thank you

The work concentrates where the discomfort starts: lower back, glutes and the deep muscles of the pelvis. You feel it in everyday movement.

Releases lower back tension

Work on the spinal erectors, quadratus lumborum and deep muscle helps let go of the stiffness that gathers in the lower back.

Gives the hips their movement back

Gentle stretching and release of glutes, piriformis and hip flexors widen the range of movement and ease the feeling of being locked up.

Supports a balanced posture

Releasing the muscles that stabilise the pelvis gives the body a more even base and takes load off the lower back.

Adapts to your case

The therapist reads where the tension sits and adjusts pressure, technique and stretching to your body and your activity.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need
to know before coming

Who is the Lower Back & Hip Relief massage for?

It is recommended for anyone with muscle tension in the lower back, hips or glutes, whether from work, sport, long periods sitting or accumulated stress. It is also an excellent option for cyclists, runners and physically active people.

How is it different from a full-body massage?

It is a full-body massage, but this treatment gives particular attention to the lower back, hips and pelvis. The aim is to work where muscle tension most often gathers, improving mobility and comfort.

Which muscles does the session work on?

Depending on what each client needs, the focus is on the spinal erectors, quadratus lumborum, glutes, piriformis, hip flexors, hamstrings and the other muscles tied to the stability of the pelvis and the lower back. Every session is adapted individually.

How is it different from the Deep Tissue Sports Massage?

Lower Back & Hip Relief is aimed specifically at tension in the lower back and hips. The Deep Tissue Sports Massage works the deep muscle of the whole body and is mainly for athletes or anyone with general muscle overload.

How do I know if this is the right massage for me?

If your lower back feels stiff, your hips are tight, or you ache after working, driving or playing sport, this treatment can be an excellent option. If you are unsure which massage to choose, our team will gladly assess what you need and suggest the right one.
