Built for runners, whatever your distance

Do your legs feel heavy after a run? Calves loaded, hips tight, a nagging lower back? Are repeated sessions or long distances leaving your muscles slower to bounce back?

At Baan Pho Thai Massage we built this treatment specifically around what runners need. The Runner Recovery Massage answers the demands of training regularly, racing or building towards a marathon, combining our background in traditional Thai massage with sports massage technique.

It is a full-body massage, but we pay particular attention to the muscles that carry the stride: quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, hip flexors, IT band, calves, soleus, tibialis anterior, plantar fascia and lower back.

Ideal for
people who:

Run 5K, 10K, half-marathon or marathon.

Run trail or mountain routes.

Carry muscle overload after training or racing.

Feel tension in legs, hips, glutes or lower back.

Want better recovery, good mobility and less stiffness between sessions.

Benefits

Why your body will
thank you

A body that has recovered, moves well and stays balanced simply runs better.

Faster muscle recovery

Deep work on calves, hamstrings, quads, plantar fascia and lower back releases what training leaves behind and shortens the time between sessions.

Better mobility and flexibility

Stretches adapted to the runner restore range of movement in hips, legs and back, easing the stiffness that caps performance and raises injury risk.

Fewer injuries and overloads

Releasing tension in the muscles that work hardest while running lowers the risk of knots, overload and the injuries that come with continuous training.

Sharper performance

A recovered, mobile body runs better. This is not just rest: it is part of the training.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need
to know before coming

Who is the Runner Recovery Massage for?

It is designed for 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon and trail runners, and for anyone who runs regularly. It suits anyone who wants to recover better between sessions, carry less overload and hold good mobility right through the season.

Which muscles does the session work on?

It is a full-body massage, but we focus on what running loads most: quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, hip flexors, IT band, calves, soleus, tibialis anterior, plantar fascia and lower back. Every treatment is adapted to the runner and to the load they are carrying.

How is it different from a standard sports massage?

It combines sports massage with genuine traditional Thai technique. Alongside the deep muscle work it uses pressure on specific points, work along the muscle lines and gentle stretches adapted to running, to improve mobility, ease tension and make recovery more complete.

How does it differ from the Cyclist Recovery Massage?

Both use sports massage and traditional Thai technique, but they are built for different sports. The Cyclist Recovery Massage focuses on what the pedal stroke loads: quadriceps, glutes and hip flexors. The Runner Recovery Massage goes after the runner's needs, with particular attention to calves, soleus, plantar fascia, IT band and the muscles that absorb the impact of every stride.

How do I know if this is the right massage for me?

If you run regularly, your legs feel heavy after training, you notice stiffness in the calves, hips or plantar fascia, or you want to recover better between sessions, this treatment was designed for you. If you are unsure which massage to choose, our team will gladly suggest the one that fits your training and your goals.
